TRACK:0

TRACK:0 is a system which generates new sound by connecting CD-ROM drives to the internet.
Input and output of the sounds within this system are performed by [TRACK:0 player]. When you play an audio CD on [TRACK:0 player], the player samples short phrase from the CD and sends it to the internet. there the sound will be combined with another sound which is sampled by some other user's [TRACK:0 player] and will all be played as a new sound.

--Requirements
1. Windows with CD-ROM drive
2. Speakers or headphones
3. Internet connection
4. Audio CD (not CD-ROM)

--Operation
1. Run TRACK0 Player.exe and insert an audio CD in your CD-ROM drive. (if any other audio player starts running, quit it at once)
2. Click play button

--Playback procedure
1. When you click the play button, the player connects to the internet automatically and the sound which has been recorded on the CD is being sampled and sent to the internet.
2. On the net, the sampled sound is combined with another sampled sound which is sent by some user's [TRACK:0 player].
3. The sequential sound which is mixed on the net is returned and played on each user's player.
*. While playing, the head of the CD-ROM drive keeps moving. As it moves, the player changes sampled sound and generates new sounds on the internet.

--Local mode
If the player fails to connect to the internet when it starts running, the player runs with local mode (internet connection OFF). On the local mode, the player plays only the sampled sound from your CD.

--Settings
* Sample Time: Setting for changing the length of sampled sound. 0.2 seconds to 0.8 seconds. (local mode: 0.2 seconds to 3 seconds.)
* Upload Interval: Setting for changing the time interval of the sampling and the uploading. 15 seconds to 60 seconds. (local mode: 5 seconds to 100 seconds.)
* Sound Devices: Setting for switching the sound device program which is used.

--Problems
To interrupt automatic start of any other audio players. (TRACK:0 player wants to have a priority rather than others.)
